•    2-Day Basic Green Woodwork.  This course is designed so that you will learn how to use the shave horse, pole lathe and how to use a variety of green woodwork tools and techniques.  And you don’t need any prior experience.

The skills you will learn are:-

*    How To Select The Wood
*    Cleaving and Side Axe
*    Pole-Lathe
*    How To Sharpen Your Tools
*    How To Use Your Hand Tools Safely
*    You Will Learn Knife Work and How To Use Carving Tools

You will also learn:-

*    How To Cook Over An Open Fire
*    The Use of An Earth Oven

What Can You Make?

*    Spoons (with a carved bowl)
*    Small Turned Items
*    A Stool (turned or drawn)

After this Basic Course – you can progress to the Intermediate Course that is for 6 Days, where you will add to the skills you have already learned.

GET BACK TO NATURE WITH AN EARTH OVEN
2-DAY COURSE

Cook outdoors.  Forget about gas, electric or paraffin. Learn how to build your own Earth Oven.

What Are The Raw Materials You Need?

In one word … soil.

That’s right – the soil from your garden.

This course is suitable for the whole family.  Yes, you will get very muddy, but what child is going to object to that?

So come and join this hands on project.  It’s practical and fun.

What Will You Learn?

•    You have to make sure the Soil is the right consistency.
•    How to design and build an Earth Oven
•    Firing and cooking with the Earth Oven

ARE YOUR HAND TOOLS BLUNT?

Take your own hand tools along to the Cherry Wood Project.

While on this one-day course you will learn:-

•    How to repair and restore your old tools.
•    How to hone and maintain a really sharp edge
•    How to choose new and second hand tools

What Can You Sharpen?

•    Knives
•    Axes
•    Chisels
•    Planes

HARVEST AND WEAVE ELM BARK

And now for something different.

You can learn how to harvest the Bark of the Elm Tree.

What can you do with this Bark?

•    You can weave containers
•    Chair Seats
•    And baskets

The Skills You Will Learn

•    How to identity and select Elm Trees
•    How to harvest and preserve the Bark
