Williams, a utility company that finds, produces, gathers, processes, and transports natural gas, has received four awards from Federal and state regulators. The agencies are the U.S. Bureau of Land Management and the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission.

The awards included one for Best Management Practice from the U.S. Bureau of Land Management for new drilling technologies. Three Outstanding Operations Awards from The Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission for a hydrology survey to study water quality, construction of a road and tunnel to shorten driving distance to a new acreage area, and centralizing the hydratic fracturing process and eliminate water trucking from the North Rulison Field.

Williams also received two awards last year from the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission for new rig technologies and a $1 million dollar donation to fund a technology wing at Colorado Mountain College’s new campus in Rifle, Colorado.

“We are operating in an era of sustainability, accountability and conservation,” said Steve Malcolm, Chairman, President and CEO. “This requires ingenuity, and a willingness to collaborate with our stakeholders to develop and produce the new supplies of clean natural gas our nation needs.”

The Awards were mainly for the company’s efforts in Western Colorado’s Piceance Basin. Their efforts there included reducing emissions and truck traffic, building relationships with communities, and applying new drilling technologies.

“We know that achieving the right results start with our group of very dedicated employees who continuously seek new ways to go beyond what is required to bring our nation much needed energy supplies,” said Ralph Hill, President of Williams Exploration and Productions Unit. “For us, it is our way of life and it results in building a good business and good relationships in all of our communities.”
