FASHIONING A GREENER FUTURE

Integrating sustainable development principles in the very heart of its educative programs, the London College of Fashion takes a decisive step towards a green generation.

CENTRE FOR SUSTAINABLE FASHION

“London College of Fashion is committed to drive up the quality of advice, information and support surrounding issues of sustainability and climate change. Environmental and ethical concerns should be high on everyone’s agenda, as fundamental considerations for any forward thinking fashion organisation.”Dr Frances Corner, Head of LCF clearly stated the involvement the London College of Fashion plans on taking in joining the effort promoting better business practices.

The Centre For Sustainable Fashion is due to launch in April 2008 and its main mission will be to gather experts in sustainable fashion practices. It is the logical sequel to recent actions the London College of Fashion undertook. Indeed, it is in the process of developing a postgraduate degree in sustainable fashion and has also launched an interesting campaign : “Is Green the New Black?”

A great initiative that should encourage other schools to include sustainable development principles in their programs, thus forming generations of green-conscious graduates.
